Down on the Farm

Hello,

I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather we are having!  The kids seem to enjoy it at recess time!  This week we will be talking about farms and farm animals.  We are all finished with the alphabet so we do not have a letter of the week, but we continue to practice them throughout the day.  On Wednesday and Thursday of this week, we will be traveling to the Ryan and Cheri Klussendorf farm which is east of Medford on Highway 64.  There, we will get to see some calves, cows, and other animals/things that are around a farm.  Just a reminder that we will be going into the barn, so please dress your child in older clothes that can get dirty.
Students at MAES have worked so hard to get the big shield filled up yet again!  That means there is another reward coming their way!!  On Tuesday and Wednesday of this week the children will compete against the other Pre-K classes in the A"MAES"ing Race.  The children will be given clues and must race to find the next clues.  This will be a fun activity that will definitely include some problem solving and critical thinking!  Pictures will be posted after the races.  :)

REMINDERS:
~Our final Families Being Involved event will take place this Friday, May 18th, from 1:00-3:00 in the outdoor classroom.  This is the area to the west of the building with the picnic tables.

~Book orders are due Wednesday and Thursday of this week.  This will be our last book order of the year.

~Our next field trip will be to the school forest to learn about bugs and insects.  This field trip will take place in the morning on Wednesday, May 30th and Thursday, May 31st.

~Our final field trip of the year will be to the Medford City Park for a day of lunch and a picnic lunch.  We will walk to the park from MAES, have play time, and then enjoy a picnic lunch made especially for us by the cooks.  Please be sure your child wears tennis shoes that day.
